Negative feelings during pregnancy
You have just found out that you are pregnant, but you find that you have mixed feelings about being pregnant. You may even feel very negative, especially if this is a surprise pregnancy. Even if it's a planned pregnancy, you may have a surge of negative feelings and fears coming up. This could be due to many different reasons; like not feeling ready for the big changes coming, or not knowing what to expect. Remember, what you feel right now is probably temporary and there's always great ways to cope.
steps
Take a breather, from your thoughts and fears. Take a long walk and focus on just breathing.
Write all your thoughts is a diary or journal. Even when you feel you've written everything you can, try to dig though your emotions. Your emotions often hide a deeper fear. When you get to what you are really afraid of, it's often not so scary anymore.
Get support from someone you trust. This is a heavy burden to bear, especially when people may expect you to be happy about your pregnancy. It's okay to feel negative about change.
Talk to other women who have gone through pregnancy. Every woman probably had some negative feelings that they may have kept to themselves. Society expects pregnant women to be happy, and so we keep our 'bad' feelings to ourselves.
Do something that makes you happy, just nothing extreme! Take a bath with candles and relax, take a good book to bed, or go shopping with a good friend. Don't get sucked into the negativity.
No matter how difficult it may seem, trust that the universe will provide. Now is a good time to pray and you may expect an answer.
